What is a Warranty?

A warranty is a promise made by a manufacturer to a buyer that the goods being sold will meet certain specifications or perform as expected. Warranty is provided by replacing defective spare parts in case of a Manufacture defect and not necessarily by replacing the device or refunding its value.

What is Not Covered?

This Warranty Policy does not cover the following categories:

  • Non-Branded Accessories, Batteries, Printer Printheads, Toys, Consumable products, Software and digital codes, Services

Warranty Duration:

Our warranty policy ensures coverage for defects in material, design, and workmanship arising after product purchase. For selected products and instances where we act as the seller, a 12-month warranty applies to eligible items purchased by all buyers within the UAE.

The Extended Warranty Plan (12 or 24 months) extends the warranty period beyond the manufacturer’s default warranty duration.

 

Warranty Start Date:

The warranty of the item begins from the product receipt date.

General Terms & Conditions:

The repair or replacement of a product under this warranty does not extend or renew the warranty period. The applicable warranty terms remain in accordance with your device manufacturer.

All warranty repairs against products bought from E>City will be handled by the brand’s authorized service centres.

If your product is unrepairable but remains under the manufacturer’s warranty, we will either issue a replacement from the same seller or provide a full refund if a replacement is unavailable.

Warranty Providers:

The device’s warranty is provided by the manufacturer, or their authorized service provider and it is subjected to the warranty policies of the manufacturer, which can be found on the user manual or the official website of the manufacturer.

E>City is not responsible for warranty services provided by authorized service centres. This includes the availability of spare parts, repair duration, and repair quality. Customers should directly contact the warranty service provider if they have any complaints or concerns.

Service Policy:

Personal Data and information on device is under customer responsibility, and we advise the customer to make a back-up for the data and information before performing maintenance on the device. The warranty service provider is not responsible for any data or information loss.

Warranty service provider is not responsible for the loss of any installed software

The customer agrees that before submitting a device for repair, customers should back up their data, disable Find My iPhone (FMI), Find My Mobile (FMM) or Find My Device (FMD) and remove any lock or password. The Warranty service provider has the right not to conduct any repairs if these conditions are not met. The time it takes customers to provide device information or obtain approval is not included in the repair turnaround time (TAT).

Warranty is provided by replacing defective spare parts in case of a Manufacture defect and not necessarily by replacing the device or refunding its value.

Customer agrees to have his device repaired by a qualified technician that has the right to open the device without permission from the customer if required.

Warranty service provider is not responsible for any defect or internal damage that are discovered and was not reported by the customer when submitting his device.

The warranty service provider is not responsible to return the add-ons to devices such as screen protectors and plastic covers in case maintenance procedure is required to remove the added piece.

Out-of-Warranty Repair Fees:

If the service centre determines that your product is no longer under warranty, they may offer to repair it for a fee. You are not obligated to accept this offer, and you can have the product returned to you without repair.

When Warranty Becomes Invalid?

This Warranty Policy becomes invalid for the following cases:

  • Physical Damage or dents caused by accident, liquid, physical damage, misuse, neglect, or unauthorized service centre modification.

·        Attempts repair or maintenance process by unauthorized party, which is not approved by the BRAND, as well as using non-original spare parts.

·        Operating system malfunctions or software malfunctions whether caused from the installed Applications by the customer or previously installed applications on the device.

·        Deleting Operating System files, hard-disk partitions, or virus-related issues.

  • Damage caused by power surges or other electrical fluctuations.
  • Damage caused by the use of accessories that are not compatible with the product.
  • Damage caused by environmental factors, such as moisture, extreme temperatures, or pests.

How to protect from Accidental & Liquid Damages?

E>city provides several extended warranty and accidental protection plans for your devices. Please inquire in store or contact us for more details.

How to Make a Warranty Claim:

  • For items bought from E>City store:
    • Bring the item to any E>City store with the original tax invoice received by the customer on his/her registered email ID/Phone Number.
    • Head to the Customer Service desk within the store and inform the staff that you would like to service the item under your warranty claim.
    • In Store Warranty Claim:
      • Bring the item to any E>City store with the original tax invoice received by the customer on his/her registered email ID/Phone Number.
      • Head to the Customer Service desk within the store and inform the staff that you would like to service the item under warranty claim.
    • Online Warranty Claim:
      • Email your order details to contactus@ecityuae.ae and our customer support team will reach out to provide you with the necessary instructions.

Process:

We will inspect the product to determine if it is covered under warranty. If the product is covered under warranty, we will repair or replace the product at no charge to you. If the product is not covered under warranty, we will notify you of the cost of repairs or replacement.

Note: Some service centres will demand an inspection charge if the product is found out of warranty and the quote is rejected by the customer.
